In France, here are the main emergency numbers you can call — all are free and available 24/7:

• 112 – European emergency number (works anywhere in the EU, including France). You can call it from any phone — mobile or landline — for any type of emergency (police, fire, medical, etc.).

• 15 – SAMU (ambulance / medical emergency)

• 17 – Police (Police Secours)

• 18 – Fire brigade (Pompiers)

• 114 – Emergency number for people who are deaf or hard of hearing (can be reached by SMS or fax)
