The Biz Où? Trust Framework
Helping people choose with confidence.
Finding a business online has never been easier.
Knowing which one to trust is much harder.
The Biz Où? Trust Framework has been developed to encourage transparency, professionalism and responsible business practices within our community. Its purpose is to help consumers make informed decisions while recognising businesses that are committed to providing a positive customer experience.
Rather than claiming that any business is "approved" or "guaranteed", our framework promotes openness, accountability and continuous improvement.
Our Principles
The Biz Où? Trust Framework is built around six key principles.
Integrity
Businesses should present themselves honestly, provide accurate information and communicate openly with customers.
Transparency
Customers should be able to understand what a business offers, how to contact them and what they can reasonably expect from the service.
Professionalism
Businesses are encouraged to operate responsibly, respond to enquiries promptly and treat customers with respect.
Accountability
Mistakes can happen in any business. What matters is how they are handled. Businesses should aim to resolve issues fairly and professionally.
Authenticity
Customer reviews and testimonials should represent genuine experiences. Fake or misleading reviews have no place within our community.
Continuous Improvement
The best businesses never stop learning. We encourage members to develop their skills, improve their services and embrace good business practices.
What the Trust Framework Is
The Trust Framework is:
-
A set of principles that encourage good business practices.
-
A way of helping consumers understand what Biz Où? stands for.
-
A framework that promotes transparency and accountability.
-
A guide for businesses that wish to build trust with customers.
-
Part of our ongoing commitment to creating a high-quality directory.
What the Trust Framework Is Not
The Trust Framework is not:
-
A government accreditation.
-
A legal certification.
-
A guarantee of quality or performance.
-
A warranty that every customer experience will be perfect.
-
A replacement for carrying out your own checks before choosing a business.
Consumers should always satisfy themselves that a business is suitable for their individual requirements before entering into any agreement.
Reviews and Customer Feedback
Honest customer feedback helps everyone.
Biz Où? encourages genuine reviews based on real customer experiences.
We do not support:
-
Fake reviews.
-
Purchased reviews.
-
Reviews written by the business itself.
-
Reviews written by family members, employees or friends pretending to be customers.
-
Attempts to manipulate ratings.
Where concerns are brought to our attention, we may review listings and take appropriate action where necessary.
Advice for Consumers
Before choosing any business, we recommend that you:
-
Read customer reviews carefully.
-
Speak directly with the business if you have questions.
-
Request written quotations where appropriate.
-
Confirm pricing before work begins.
-
Check qualifications, insurance or memberships if these are important for the service being provided.
-
Compare more than one business whenever possible.
-
Trust your instincts if something doesn't feel right.
Taking a few extra minutes can help you make a more informed decision.
Advice for Businesses
Trust is earned over time.
Businesses that build strong reputations typically:
-
Communicate clearly.
-
Keep their promises.
-
Respond professionally to enquiries.
-
Encourage honest customer feedback.
-
Deal with complaints constructively.
-
Keep business information up to date.
-
Operate with integrity and transparency.
Small actions repeated consistently often have the biggest impact on customer confidence.
Our Commitment
At Biz Où?, we're committed to building a directory that people can use with confidence.
We aim to:
-
Encourage high standards of professionalism.
-
Promote honest and transparent business practices.
-
Help consumers make informed choices.
-
Support businesses that value integrity and customer service.
-
Continually improve the information and resources available through our platform.
Trust isn't something that can be bought.
It's built through honesty, consistency and positive customer experiences.
That's the standard we encourage throughout the Biz Où? community.
Working Together
The Biz Où? Trust Framework is a shared commitment between Biz Où?, businesses and consumers.
By working together, we can help create a stronger, more transparent and more supportive community for everyone living, working and doing business in France.
Search with confidence. List with integrity. Grow through trust.
How We Put Trust into Practice
Building trust takes more than good intentions. It requires clear standards, consistent processes and a commitment to transparency.
The Biz Où? Trust Framework is supported by a series of policies that explain how our directory operates and the standards we encourage across our community.
Together, these policies help promote fairness, transparency and consistency for both businesses and consumers.

Consumer Guidance
Choosing the right business is an important decision. Our Consumer Guidance offers practical advice to help you compare providers, ask the right questions and make informed choices with confidence.
These policies work together to support the Biz Où? Trust Framework and reflect our commitment to encouraging honesty, professionalism and transparency throughout our community. While no directory can guarantee every customer experience, we aim to provide the information and guidance needed to help consumers make informed decisions and support businesses that are committed to good practice.
Vetting
Our vetting process is overseen by a dedicated Vetting Manager - an experienced and qualified investigator who manually reviews listings and carries out ongoing checks.
This added layer of oversight is designed to help our standards be applied consistently across the platform.
Our Vetting Manager works to filter out those businesses that do not meet our standards and criteria. They review every business as it goes live, and if it’s not good enough, it doesn’t make it onto Biz Où?.
Those businesses that you see will have been fully verified by Biz Où?
All have been checked for legitimacy, social proof and reputation.

-
Social media activity
-
Overall online presence
A new business will not be disadvantaged simply because it has few or no reviews. Every established business was once new, and we assess the business as a whole.
What Our Vetting Means
Being listed on Biz Où? means that, at the time of vetting, we were satisfied that the business met our standards for inclusion.
Our vetting is intended to give consumers greater confidence, but it is not a guarantee of future performance or an endorsement of every product or service offered.
Ongoing Standards
Businesses are expected to:
-
Keep their information accurate and up to date.
-
Maintain professional standards.
-
Operate legally and ethically.
-
Respond professionally to customer concerns.
Listings may be reviewed periodically, particularly if information changes or concerns are raised.
Consumer Feedback
We encourage customers to leave honest reviews and share genuine experiences. Positive and constructive feedback helps consumers make informed decisions while supporting businesses that consistently deliver great service.
If a concern is brought to our attention, we may contact the business for clarification and, where appropriate, review their listing.
Our Commitment
Biz Où? exists to support both consumers and businesses by creating a trusted community of English-speaking businesses across France.
Our aim is simple: to make it easier to find businesses you can trust, while helping good businesses gain the visibility they deserve.

Trust Framework.
Together with our Vetting Policy, Business Code of Conduct, Star Rating Policy, Review Integrity Guide and Complaints & Appeals Policy, these standards help create a trusted resource for English-speaking consumers and businesses across France.
Biz Où? Complaints & Appeals Policy
Our Commitment to Fairness
At Biz Où?, we are committed to maintaining a trusted and transparent directory for both consumers and businesses.
While we strive to ensure that all listed businesses meet our standards, we recognise that concerns may occasionally arise. This policy explains how complaints and appeals are handled fairly, consistently and impartially.
Our aim is to resolve issues wherever possible while protecting the interests of both consumers and businesses.

The name of the business.
-
A clear description of the concern.

-
Keep both parties informed where additional information is required.

Biz Où? encourages genuine concerns to be reported.
However, complaints that are clearly malicious, abusive, deliberately misleading or repeatedly submitted without reasonable grounds may be dismissed without further investigation.
Where appropriate, repeated misuse of the complaints process may itself result in action being taken.
10. Independent Decision Making
Biz Où? aims to consider every complaint objectively and fairly.
A complaint does not automatically mean a business has acted improperly, nor does a business's response automatically dismiss a complaint.
Decisions are based on the information and evidence available at the time of the review.
Our Commitment
The Complaints & Appeals Policy is designed to protect both consumers and businesses by ensuring that concerns are handled fairly, transparently and consistently.
Our objective is not to punish businesses, but to encourage high standards, promote continuous improvement and maintain confidence in the Biz Où? Directory.

Whether you're moving to France, living here permanently, buying a second home, running a business or simply visiting, choosing the right business can make all the difference.
This guide explains how to make the most of the Biz Où? Directory and what our trust features mean.
What Biz Où? Is
Biz Où? is more than a business directory.
It is a trusted resource designed to connect consumers with English-speaking businesses across France while promoting professionalism, transparency and excellent customer service.
Our directory is supported by the Biz Où? Trust Framework, which includes:
-
Business Listing Standards
-
Vetting Policy
-
Business Code of Conduct
-
Star Rating Policy
-
Review Integrity Guide
-
Complaints & Appeals Policy
Together, these policies help maintain confidence in the businesses listed on Biz Où?.
Understanding the Biz Où? Vetting Process
Before being listed, businesses are assessed against our Business Listing Standards.
Where appropriate, this may include checks relating to:
-
Business information
-
Insurance
-
Professional qualifications
-
Business registration
-
Online presence
-
Customer reputation
The level of verification varies depending on the type of business and the information available.
Being listed means the business has met our listing requirements at the time of acceptance. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future performance.
Understanding Star Ratings UNDER CONSULTATION
The Biz Où? Star Rating reflects customer recommendation levels, not a personal opinion of Biz Où?.
Businesses earn stars based on verified customer recommendations.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Outstanding
100% customer recommendation.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent
80%–99% customer recommendation.
⭐⭐⭐ Good
60%–79% customer recommendation.
☆☆☆☆☆ No Stars Displayed
A business may have no stars because:
-
It is a newly listed business and has not yet received enough customer recommendations.
-
It has insufficient review data to award a rating.
-
Its recommendation level is currently below the minimum threshold.
-
Its Star Rating is under review.
No star rating should not automatically be interpreted as poor quality.
Choosing the Right Business
Before making your decision, consider:
-
Reading customer reviews.
-
Looking at photographs of previous work.
-
Visiting the business website.
-
Asking questions before committing.
-
Requesting written quotations where appropriate.
-
Checking timescales and pricing.
-
Confirming exactly what is included.
Taking a few extra minutes can help avoid misunderstandings later.
Reviews
Customer reviews provide valuable insight into other people's experiences.
When reading reviews:
-
Look for consistent patterns rather than individual comments.
-
Read both positive and constructive feedback.
-
Consider how the business responds to criticism.
-
Be cautious of businesses with unusually perfect review profiles.
Professional responses to negative feedback often demonstrate a commitment to customer service.
Your Responsibilities as a Consumer
Consumers also play an important role in maintaining a trusted directory.
We encourage you to:
-
Leave honest and balanced reviews.
-
Base reviews on genuine personal experiences.
-
Treat businesses fairly and respectfully.
-
Raise concerns directly with the business where appropriate.
-
Update reviews if an issue has been successfully resolved.
Constructive feedback benefits both businesses and future customers.
If Something Goes Wrong
If you experience a problem:
-
Contact the business first and explain your concerns.
-
Give the business a reasonable opportunity to resolve the issue.
-
If appropriate, leave an honest and factual review.
-
If you believe the issue raises concerns about the business's compliance with Biz Où? standards, you may submit a complaint to Biz Où?.
We review complaints fairly and consider all available evidence before making any decisions.
Protecting Yourself
Before paying for goods or services, you should:
-
Confirm prices in writing where possible.
-
Ask for invoices or receipts.
-
Keep copies of emails and quotations.
-
Check cancellation terms.
-
Understand payment arrangements before work begins.
These simple steps can help avoid disputes.
