Vetting
Our vetting process is overseen by a dedicated Vetting Manager - an experienced and qualified investigator who manually reviews listings and carries out ongoing checks.
This added layer of oversight is designed to help our standards be applied consistently across the platform.
Our Vetting Manager works to filter out those businesses that do not meet our standards and criteria. They review every business as it goes live, and if it’s not good enough, it doesn’t make it onto Biz Où?.
Those businesses that you see will have a verification tick and also a statement which informs you that it has been manually checked by Biz Où?
If you see a tick and a statement saying Verification Ongoing, this means that we are awaiting evidence of qualifications,/insurance, this is usually only applicable to certain trades. But at this stage, all will have been checked for legitimacy, social proof and reputation.
How we vet businesses on
Biz Où?
We don’t list every business.
And that’s intentional.
Biz Où? is built to help people find businesses they can actually trust—not scroll through endless options and hope for the best.
So before a business appears here, it goes through a real, manual review.
What we check
Every business listed on Biz Où? has been reviewed by a human, a previously experienced and qualified investigator —not just approved by a form. Here are the steps we take and what they look at:
1. Legitimacy
We make sure the business is real, properly registered, and contactable.
No ghost companies. No fake listings.
2. Online presence
We check their website or social profiles to understand what they do and how they present themselves. Assessing consistency across platforms.
Low-effort, misleading, or incomplete profiles don’t make the cut.
3. Reputation
We look at reviews and feedback across platforms.
A few bad reviews are normal—but consistent complaints or red flags aren’t.
4. Overall quality
This part matters most.
We ask a simple question:
Would we recommend this business to a friend?
If the answer isn’t a clear yes, we don’t list it.
5. For building trades only, we also expect evidence of qualifications and/or professional accreditation to be provided. In addition to insurance cover.
This is due to the demand from customers for us to check them.
6. Listings
All listings may also be subject to periodic rechecks to help maintain quality over time.
What happens if a business doesn’t meet the standard?
They don’t get listed.
In some cases, we’ll give feedback so they can improve and reapply.
But we don’t lower the bar just to add more listings.
And it doesn’t stop there
Approval isn’t permanent.
We regularly review businesses on the platform, and if quality drops, they can be removed.
Because trust isn’t something you set once—it’s something you maintain.
Why this matters
Most platforms focus on having more listings.
We focus on having better ones.
That means:
-
Less noise
-
Fewer bad surprises
-
More confidence when you choose
Make More Confident Choices
Finding trustworthy services in a different country can be challenging - especially when language and local knowledge are barriers.
Biz Où? helps simplify that process by highlighting providers who meet clear, pre-defined criteria, so you can spend less times guessing and more time getting things done.
The short version
If a business is on Biz Où?, it’s been checked.
And if it stops meeting our standards, it won’t stay.
